Abstract

The connection between media violence and aggressive behavior is something that people have been arguing about for a time in the fields of communication and media studies. For a time people who study mass communication have been trying to figure out how watching or reading violent things in books, movies, television and video games might affect how people think and behave. Even though people have been studying this for decades they still do not agree on some things and they still have ways of doing their research so they cannot agree on whether media violence really causes people to be aggressive in real life. This study looks again at what we know about how media violence affects people and it carefully examines the ideas and methods that have been used to study this topic. The study finds that even though we still do not know for sure if media violence directly causes aggression media definitely plays a role in shaping what people think about violence and how they talk about it. We need to take another look at how we study media violence so that we can understand what is happening in the world today and so that we can develop ways of studying this topic in the future. Media violence is an issue and we need to think carefully about how media affects people and how it shapes our culture. Media violence is something that we need to think about carefully. Media plays a significant role in shaping what people think about violence. The study of media violence is important. We need to keep studying it so that we can understand its effects on people and, on our culture. Media violence and aggressive behavior are connected in ways and we need to keep studying this topic to understand what is really going on.
